This session will build and develop your skills in dealing with the media in a crisis. The session can focus on print, broadcast or include both.

The theory elements will explain the difference a crisis makes for the media, what you can expect from journalists and reporters as well as what they will want from spokespeople.

If required we will guide you on the research and vital preparation you must do before each interview you take part in, but the focus of the session will be on bespoke practice interviews – these will be designed by us in advance and will aim to test your skills.

The practice interviews can include a range of different formats; telephone, face-to-face, on location, down-the-line, doorstep and the range of styles from friendly, aggressive to hostile.

The practical scenarios will be filmed and played back so you can critique your own performance and adapt and improve your methods.
